We have already discussed on our blog how online buying has transformed from a trend to an established reality. Numerous companies have decided to move or, in many cases, create a new business on the web.

ItalianOriginalShop published a beautiful infographic created by analyzing research conducted by the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano, Netcomm and DELL.

The emerging data in a nutshell:
- April 2012 to present active online shoppers grew by 50% reaching 13.6 million
- sectors that are expected to grow more than others are those involving apparel
- 34% of users who inquire online then choose to purchase online
- the 49% surfs the web looking for deals by comparing competing sites with each other
- the 62% considers the key reviews.
- the 37% forgoes buying after reading three or more negative reviews

Dwelling on the comments back in 2012 Nielsen stated that online reviews for e-commerce are critical. In a sample of 28,000 online consumers ( study conducted in 56 countries on all 5 continents ) the 70% indicated reviews ranked second as the overall liking index of the platform on which the purchase is being made .

Online purchasing confronts the user with the issue of trust both with regard to the payment platform, the quality of shipping offered, after-sales support, and last but not least on the quality of the product itself, which obviously cannot be touched.
The review offers the user a tool to assess "social satisfaction" and in some way convince himself of the quality of the merchant
